The China Infrared Optics Equipment Manufacturer that builds its own machines

We design the electrical control, motion software and mechanical frame of every closed-loop wire saw under one roof in Shanghai — we don't rebadge someone else's box.

§ 01 — The short answer

What should you expect from a china infrared optics equipment manufacturer?

Expect one that actually builds the machine — not one that buys a generic frame and prints a logo on it. As a china infrared optics equipment manufacturer, Vimfun designs the cutting platform end to end: the servo motion, the control software and the mechanical frame are developed and assembled in the same factory, by one team.

The legal entity is Zhengzhou Shine Smart Equipment Co., Ltd., operating since 2019, with R&D in Zhengzhou and manufacturing in Shanghai; the Vimfun brand was registered in 2023 for export markets. That structure matters because it means a change to the wire path, the tensioning, or the control logic happens inside the company — not through a third-party OEM you can never reach.

The platform itself runs the closed-loop diamond wire at up to 80 m/s with a kerf as narrow as 0.35 mm. Wire diameter spans 0.35–0.65 mm and tension is servo-regulated across an 80–200 N range, so the same machine can be tuned for a thin, fine-finish slice or a fast, durable production cut. Machining precision is held to ≤0.03 mm, and Z-axis angular accuracy to ≤1 arc-minute over 100 mm of travel. Those are build numbers — the kind a factory can stand behind, not a trading desk.

§ 02 — Inside the build

What "built in-house" actually means here

A china infrared optics equipment manufacturer earns that label at the bench, not in a catalogue. Three things separate a real build shop from a reseller.

Electrical, software and mechanical, one team

The YZ axes are servo-driven, the control is an in-house PLC with an English touchscreen and a hand controller, and the frame is precision steel built in the same plant. There is no outsourced control cabinet whose firmware we can't open — when an axis needs tuning, the people who wrote the motion logic are down the hall.

Named components, not mystery parts

Guide-wheel bearings are NSK; the wire is electroplated diamond on a continuous loop; motion runs on servo motors through a frequency inverter; guide wheels are Φ250 and Φ180 with multiple grooves so a worn groove rotates to a fresh one. We'll list the bill of materials on request rather than hide it behind "industrial grade".

One platform, scaled by frame

The same closed-loop principle scales from desktop lab units to 1200 mm production frames simply by increasing loop circumference. If your ingot geometry is non-standard, we configure a custom frame and travel rather than forcing your part onto a stock table.

§ 03 — What comes off the line

What does the factory actually build?

The core of what we manufacture is the closed-loop diamond wire saw range — the front end of any infrared optics line. The factory operates to a documented ISO 9001 quality system, and the machines are built to cut the hard, brittle materials defined in references like the Crystran germanium datasheet.

Every machine ships after a factory acceptance test, and after contract we will run your own germanium, ZnSe, ZnS, silicon or sapphire samples on the actual model before it leaves the building — so the first part you see cut on your material is cut on the machine you're buying, not a demo unit. Where the factory lacks an in-house metrology tool for a given measurement, we say so and supply samples for your own lab rather than quoting a number we can't verify; diameter and runout, for instance, are checked with calipers, a 2D measuring system and a Mitutoyo dial gauge.

The walkthrough below is the actual Shanghai floor: wire saws on the assembly bench, axes being squared and tensioned, and finished machines going through their final cut check before crating. It is the same line every export order ships from.

§ 04 — Before you commit

How do you know the build quality holds up?

Buying from a china infrared optics equipment manufacturer sight-unseen is a quality-assurance problem first and a price problem second. We try to make the build verifiable rather than asking for trust on a spec sheet.

  • PrecisionMachining precision ≤0.03 mm; Z-axis angular accuracy ≤1 arc-min over 100 mm travel.
  • FATFactory acceptance records provided; post-contract sample cut on your own material on the actual model.
  • CertifiedFactory holds ISO 9001, plus CE and RoHS declarations.
  • WarrantyOne year, with remote diagnostics and user-replaceable diamond wire and guide wheels.
§ 05 — Where we are

From Zhengzhou R&D to a Shanghai production floor

R&D and the engineering team sit in Zhengzhou; the machines are built and tested in Shanghai. The parent company, Zhengzhou Shine Smart Equipment Co., Ltd., has run the operation since 2019, and the Vimfun export brand followed in 2023 as the international face of the same factory.

What you want from a china infrared optics equipment manufacturer is the ability to answer an engineering question with the people who actually designed the machine — which is why R&D and manufacturing are kept inside one organisation rather than split across an OEM and a reseller.

To see where the equipment fits, start at the infrared optics manufacturing equipment hub, look at the front-end machine on the germanium lens blank cutting machine page, and walk the full five-stage line on the germanium lens manufacturing solution page. For why buyers in 20+ countries stay with us, see why we're a trusted infrared optics equipment supplier.

§ 06 — Next step

Send us the part you need to cut

A china infrared optics equipment manufacturer worth buying from will tell you what its machine can and can't do before you sign. Send your ingot diameter and length, your finished-lens spec and your monthly volume — we return a configuration and a free sample-cut offer, usually within one working day.
